Clifford D. Dawkins, Esq.


President

Clifford D. Dawkins, Esq. serves as the President for the SZL Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Cliff crossed in the fall of 2009, joining the Fraternity by way of Alpha Chapter at Cornell University. He also received his Masters in Public Policy and Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University. Cliff is a dedicated community leader, regularly engages in community organizing activities, is a social entrepreneur, and is a corporate attorney by profession. Today, Cliff and his family reside in Rockaway, NJ.

Marc Turner


Vice President

Marc Turner serves as the Vice President for the Sigma Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and has chaired one of the fraternity’s national programs, Project Alpha, since 2014.  Marc Turner originally hails from Westchester County, NY. He has been a resident of Union County over the past eight years after relocating from the South with his family.  
Marc graduated from Winston Salem State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from High Point University.  He has worked across various business sectors at Fortune Global 500 companies in human resources leadership roles. In addition to navigating his professional career, Marc has represented the SZL chapter in partnering with local organizations to drive several community outreach initiatives in Morris County. Some of those organizations include the March of Dimes, George Gramby Observance Committee, Neighborhood House and Our Youth Their Future.  When he’s not working or volunteering in the community, Marc enjoys spending time with his wife and son.  His favorite hobbies include taking his son to youth sports activities, going to the movies, exercising, reading, and watching America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, play on Sundays, during the Fall and Winter seasons.

Mark Wilson


Treasurer

Mark Wilson serves as the Treasurer for the SZL Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Mark is a member of the leadership team for Software Engineering and serves as Section Lead for Advanced Technologies Software Products at military defense contractor BAE Systems. He has experience in all phases of software development and systems integration, having led large teams of engineers to develop various communications and navigation systems. Previously, Mark was a Product Manager at Lucent Technologies, responsible for various wireless product areas.  Mark graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute. Mark lives in Morris Township, NJ with his wife, Ayo and has two adult children, Jana and Taj.

Joshua Haynes


Dean of Intake

Joshua Haynes serves as the Dean of Intake for the SZL Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and crossed in the Spring of 2015 through the Epsilon Pi Chapter of Norfolk State University. Joshua is a two-time HBCU graduate and proud alumnus of Norfolk State University (Bachelor of Science, Biology) and Fisk University (Master of Arts, Biology). His professional background includes extensive years of conducting scientific research . Currently he works as a VRD Scientist at Pfizer Inc. Joshua is married to his wife Fatima and they currently reside in Somerset, NJ. Some of Joshua’s hobbies include photography, videography, and traveling (primarily exploring national parks).

 

Abdul Roberts

Parliamentarian

Abdul J. Roberts serves as the Parliamentarian for the SZL Chapter and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. experienced labor and employment attorney and crossed in 2010 through the Theta Nu Chapter in Columbia, South Carolina. Abdul graduated from the University of South Carolina and North Carolina Central University School of Law. He is currently a Partner at a law firm in union county and specializes in litigation. Abdul is married to his wife Rhonika, who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and enjoys spending his free time traveling with her.

John M. Willis


Sergeant-At-Arms

John M. Willis has been employed as a Vice President, Commercial Lending with Columbia Bank since 2012. In his current position, John works to deliver financial solutions to help companies succeed in the marketplace. Prior to joining Columbia Bank, John spent fifteen years working with Sterling Bank, IBM Credit and CIT Group. In his twenty-five years in financial services, John has worked with business ranging in size from small sole proprietorships to multi-national Fortune 500 companies. John's financial product knowledge includes equipment financing, working capital, and commercial mortgages. John was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring 1984 into the Eta Gamma Chapter at Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX. John holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Prairie View A&M University and a masters degree in business administration from DePaul University. John also holds a CFA Charter from the CFA Institute. John has been married for twenty-seven years and lives in West Milford, NJ. John's hobbies include sports, music, cooking and fitness.

J. Carter Rich


Immediate Past President

J. Carter Rich is the Immediate Past President for the SZL Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and crossed in the Spring of 1998 through Delta Delta Lambda Chapter in West Palm Beach, Florida. Carter graduated from Florida A&M University School of Business and Industry, where he played on the golf team for four years, and the University of Wisconsin Law School. His professional background includes experience in insurance, business, law and non-profit management, and he currently works at the United States Golf Association as a Director.

Carter is married to Edwina Rich, who works as the Director of Clinical Nutrition at NYU Langone Health.
